Andrew Smith

Andrew was a graduate student in the Toste group at the University of California, Berkeley. His interests were centered around the design, synthesis, and application of Brønsted acid organocatalysts occupying novel chemical space. He looked to leverage machine learning to accelerate access to optimized catalyst architectures. He will begin his postdoctoral position with the Doyle group, at UCLA, in September 2026.
