Matt Sigman has expertise in the design and development of a wide range of catalytic reactions. In this context, his group applies physical organic techniques to the interrogation of reaction mechanism to interrogate and enhance catalytic performance. In particular, his team has built a comprehensive tool set to couple the development of structural descriptors with statistical approaches to quantitatively predict reaction performance. The resulting correlations allow for the elucidation of complex structure-function relationships to inform next-generation reaction participants. These tools will be evolved and applied within C-CAS.
