Steven Kearnes received a BS in biochemistry from Brigham Young University and a PhD in structural biology in Vijay Pande's group at Stanford University. Prior to joining Relay Therapeutics, he was a technical lead for a research team at Google focused on applications of machine learning to drug discovery. His work includes applications in molecular property prediction, hit-finding with DNA-encoded library selection data, and automated chemical design. He is a founding member of the Open Reaction Database project.
